The movie “The Social Network” hit theaters this weekend and while it may seem like a stretch from consumer electronics, at Monster we see social media and technology evolving together. Just a few years ago a TV was a completely one way device:  you watched what it played. Now thanks to Internet TV technology you can open YouTube Videos, go to Twitter, and even post content right from some devices using just your TV.

And this evolution is happening all around electronics. Mobile phones, tablets, computers are all being built with features that are more about content than hardware. Take QR codes for example; with a camera and a simple app you can unlock an entire world of “hidden” information learning more about products, getting exclusive offers, even seeing user reviews.

In the future technology will only open more doors. Soon you may be able to “LIKE” your favorite TV show or product with your remote, share a song with your cellphone, write a review as you sign your check.

And of course the more devices we all use, the more connectivity matters. Today’s devices already connect together in ways we rarely think of; a TV works with an iPod to watch movies, a phone to play music , a laptop to connect to a home theater system and on and on.
