We had a blast at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas! We revealed some new Monster products, highlighted some old, and kept things interesting with continual announcements and multiple celebrity drop-bys! Here’s a little recap of the weekend for those who couldn’t make it or may have been snoozing under an iPad!
-We announced a partnership with West Coast Customs to release a variety of new car cleaning products and accessories. (That’s right, you gotta’ keep the ride clean that houses all those Monster Cables!)
Here’s Head Monster Noel Lee with West Coast Customs CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus unveiling the TRON-mobile, a very sleek ride (to say the least) that was developed by the West Coast Customs crew.

-In a convention center that seemed to be packed with over a thousand HD 3D TVs, we not only displayed our full lines of HDMI cables to hook ‘em up, but also our “universal” 3D glasses needed to use ‘em. The glasses received great feedback as being not only light and comfortable, but also providing a flawless experience when viewing 3D content… and you know why? (Here’s a hint: it’s the shutter speed!)
-We announced the new Miles Davis “Trumpet” headphones, and in doing so, were awarded one of 10 “Hot Stuff” at CES awards from Stuff.tv (for more info on this and the Trumpets, click HERE.)
-Monster threw its anticipated Awards Show and concert featuring Earth, Wind and Fire and countless special guests including Stevie Wonder. Monster and HP partnered to take the show to the next level by recording and presenting the concert LIVE, and in 3D! Guests were able to enter a separate viewing room where the show was projected on a big screen and available to be viewed with Monster and Gunner 3D glasses. The after parties that followed the show brought the likes of Andy Dick and featured additional performers like Raphael Saadiq!

-Monster attended “Tweet House,” a networking event thrown in conjunction with multiple brands and hosted at the Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas. The event drew hundreds of technology geeks and bloggers.

-Of course, celebrities like Nick Cannon, Boyz II Men, Oliver Stone, Drama (from MTV’s “The Fantasy Factory”), Earth Wind and Fire, and Stevie Wonder all rolled by the booth! And it wasn’t just entertainment and music-industry celebs - the Nevada Unites States Senator John Ensign came by too!

Now, aside from Monster, there were some great booths and buzz-products that made a big mark this year as well.
The Smart (Internet) Television is one that while not widely used yet, is estimated to nearly take-over the TV-market over the next couple years. These TVs offer full internet browsing experiences in HD, including gaming, web-browsing, movie-streaming and video conferencing.

The Motorola Atrix dual core Android Smart Phone drew large crowds as it demonstrated the ability to connect seamlessly to desktop and laptop computers via external and internal docking stations. By doing so, the Smart Phone experience was amplified and shown in HD on monitors and larger screens. Even cooler, the Atrix can simply be plucked from the dock and one can resume their activities (video streaming, web browsing, etc.) elsewhere, just as they left off.

Another item drawing attention was the Samsung Sliding PC 7 Series which, while slightly larger than an iPad, remains under 2 lbs. Setting it apart - a sliding keyboard that when withdrawn transforms the “tablet” into a “notebook.”
And finally, the Polaroid GL20 Camera Glasses, co-designed by Polaroid Creative Director and Monsterous friend, Lady Gaga, turned a few heads. With the GL20s you can snap photos using the discrete camera and then immediately upload or display them within the built-in LCD display.
